Website as a service: one monthly price, nothing to build up front

A custom site, hosting, maintenance, and an update queue for $349 a month with a $0 build fee. Month to month, cancel anytime. Here is how the model works, what it includes, and when buying a site outright is the better deal.

Quick answer

Website as a service means paying one monthly fee for a website that someone else designs, hosts, maintains, and updates, instead of buying the site and managing it yourself. Intuico Digital's Managed Website plan is $349 a month with a $0 build fee, month to month, and includes a custom design of up to 15 pages, hosting, SSL, maintenance, a Google Business Profile checkup, basic on-page SEO, and a queue for small updates. Businesses that would rather own the site can choose handoff builds from $199 or custom builds from $2,500; the website cost guide compares first-year totals.

The model

How a website subscription works

Traditional web design charges a build fee up front, then leaves you to handle hosting, security updates, and every change afterwards, usually at an hourly rate. Website as a service flips that: the provider carries the build cost and earns it back over the subscription, and ongoing care is part of the price rather than a separate invoice.

For a small business that means a professional site with no cash outlay, a known monthly number, and a team on call when the menu changes or a new hire needs a bio. For the provider it means the site has to stay good enough that you keep paying, which is a healthier incentive than a one-time project.

  • Kickoff call to settle goals, pages, and content, then design and build with review rounds
  • Launch on managed hosting with SSL, backups, monitoring, and security updates handled
  • Small-update requests go into a queue and are handled one at a time, with no hourly bill
  • Google Business Profile checkup and basic on-page SEO so the site is found, not just live
  • Month to month: cancel anytime, and your domain, content, and accounts stay yours

Subscription versus ownership

When the subscription wins, and when buying wins

The subscription wins when cash up front is tight, when the site changes often, and when nobody on the team wants to own hosting and updates. Ownership wins when the site is simple, rarely changes, and you are comfortable managing hosting, or when you want no recurring cost after the build.

Questions to ask any website-as-a-service provider

The model is only as good as the agreement behind it. Ask for these in writing from us or from anyone else.

  • Who owns the domain, the content, and the accounts, and what is returned if you cancel
  • Whether there is a minimum term or a cancellation fee
  • What counts as an included update and how fast requests are handled
  • Whether the site is a custom design or a template with your logo on it
  • What is not included: ads, ongoing SEO programs, ecommerce, and large redesigns are usually separate

Questions and answers

Website as a service FAQ

These answers match the published plan terms. The written proposal controls the final scope.

What is website as a service?

A website you pay for monthly instead of buying up front. The provider designs and builds the site, hosts it, keeps it secure and updated, and handles ongoing changes, all for one recurring price. It is the same model as software subscriptions: you stop paying, the service stops. Intuico Digital's version is the Managed Website plan at $349 a month with a $0 build fee.

What is included in the $349 a month plan?

A custom design of up to 15 marketing pages, mobile and desktop layouts, hosting, SSL and ongoing maintenance, forms and booking connection, a Google Business Profile setup or checkup, basic on-page SEO, and unlimited eligible small-update requests handled one at a time. Month to month, cancel anytime.

Is a website subscription cheaper than buying a site?

In the first year, usually yes: $349 a month is $4,188 with nothing up front, versus $2,500 or more for a custom build plus hosting and maintenance on top. Over three or four years the totals converge, and ownership can come out ahead if you rarely change the site. The honest answer depends on how often you need updates and whether you want to manage hosting yourself. The website cost guide shows the first-year math.

Do I own the website?

You own your domain, your content, your brand assets, and your Google accounts from day one. The design and the hosting are part of the service while you subscribe. If you want to own and host the site outright instead, the build-and-handoff options are $199 for Starter and $399–$599 for Growth, and custom builds start at $2,500.

What happens if I cancel?

The plan is month to month, so you can cancel at any time with no penalty. Your domain, content, and accounts stay yours. The written agreement you sign before starting states exactly what is returned and how, so there are no surprises.

What counts as a small update?

Text and image changes, new team members, hours, menu or service updates, a new landing page within the design system, form changes, and similar work that takes a short session. Requests go into a queue and are handled one at a time. Larger work such as a new section design, ecommerce, or integrations is quoted separately.

Is there a contract or a minimum term?

No. The Managed Website plan is month to month with no long-term contract. We confirm the scope, billing, and written agreement before you sign up.
